Energy Star-Qualified Equipment: Value With A Capital V

energy-star qualified equipment, Southern CaliforniaSometimes you can tell a great deal from the name of a product. And in the case of Energy Star-qualified equipment, you know you’re getting real value with a capital V.

Energy Star-approved heating and cooling systems, appliances and electronics have helped raise consumer confidence since 1992, when the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency created the program to identify products that meet tough efficiency standards. You may have seen some of these products in home improvement stores: They feature the word energy and a picture of a star, with a line resembling a half-rainbow overhead.

How does Energy Star deliver value with a capital V? When Energy Star products are properly sized and installed, you can save up to 20 percent on your annual heating and cooling bills. That is value with a capital V when you consider that the average homeowner spends about $2,000 a year to heat and cool a house.

By the department’s own standards, HVAC-system products with the Energy Star offer:

  • Reliability
  • Consistent temperatures
  • Balanced humidity
  • Efficient and healthy airflow
  • Quiet operation

In addition, the products must:

  • Deliver significant energy savings nationwide
  • Produce verifiable test results
  • Allow consumers to recoup their investment through lower utility bills in a reasonable period of time.

It follows, then, that Energy Star products also are easy on the environment:

  • Energy Star air conditioners and furnaces, depending on the model, can reach efficiency levels of up to 97 percent.
  • Energy Star window air conditioners use about 10 percent less energy than other air conditioners.

Energy Star-qualified cooling and heating systems are a great starting place in your search for efficient products. But the truth is, there are a lot of Energy Star products to choose from. And to fully capitalize on the savings and efficiency they’re designed to deliver, the products must be carefully sized.

That’s where AC Pro comes into play. Just as hundreds of homeowners in Southern California and Nevada have done over the years, call us so that we can lend our expertise to your next big-ticket purchase – so that your equipment consistently delivers value with a capital V.
